La Colline aux hirondelles :

 Located on the heights of the town of La Roche-en-Ardenne, opposite the feudal castle, 500 m from the town centre.

 

The tourist town of La Roche, nicknamed the pearl of the Ardennes, is located in the center of the Natural Park of the two Ourthes. Nature is everywhere. 

 

The region has many sites to discover:

    - The 12th century Feudal castle is surrounded by a loop of the Ourthe river, In summer, the ghost of Berthe haunts the ruins of the old building

    - The Battle of the Ardennes museum presents a magnificent collection of unique and remarkable pieces from the 40-45 war.

    - The game park where you can meet animals from our forests and farms. A pack of wolves is particularly interesting to observe.

    - Stroll along the pedestrian street to discover shops of all kinds, taverns and restaurants offering local products

      (Salaisons ardennaises – Local beers and cheeses – Pâtés from the Ardennes – Seasonal Gerdenne pâtés – Trout from the Ardennes – ...).

    - Every Sunday in season, a craft market is organized with local producers.

    - 10 km away, the Nisramont dam and its lake surrounded by a splendid walk.

    - 12 km away, Parc Chlorophylle: Recreational and educational park to discover the forest, for young and old.

    - At 19 km you can discover the caves of Hotton, caves considered to be one of the most beautiful attractions in Wallonia.

   -  Within a radius of 30 km you can visit the towns of

          * Bastogne with its museums and its Mardasson,

          * Marche en Famenne and its festival of living statues,

          * Houffalize,

          * The smallest city in the world: Durbuy.

 

All these towns are steeped in history.

 

The whole region is conducive to the practice of multiple sporting or recreational activities: canoeing and rafting on the Ourthe, cycling and mountain biking, hiking, trail running, fishing, paragliding, climbing, swimming...
